After reading the Harrison Bergeron piece, I found the symbolism to be ironic. Beginning with, it was an unrealistic life and not the world that anyone could ever imagine living in. The government controls everybody's advantages by weighing them down with weights or forcing handicaps upon them. Harrison is the first one to realize that the government is wrong and not everybody can be equal. He was in prison for using his abilities to his advantages, he died because he fought for what he believed. Therefore the story also indicates to real life, those who don't obey the government suffer or receive punishment.
